2025 will mark 160 years since the passage of the 13th Amendment which outlawed non-carceral slavery and involuntary servitude in America, and has since served as a benchmark of progress toward racial equality.

While there is no direct mention of slavery, the modern abolition movement, or the 13th amendment in the conservative movement’s Mandate for Leadership (known as Project 2025), the issue of race and a preoccupation with white power peppers the blueprint for remaking America.
